The beginning of the year ushers in the unspoken need to string words together and create what seems like a profound notion. I for one tend to lean towards the side of cynicism and scoff at most proclamations of a new slate.
Another year in which the earth survives humanity leads us all to go what past? Acting as if sins from before won't follow us. God forbid that once that clock strikes midnight we will have to continue dealing with it all.
Even though there is a deep well of scorn on my side for that type of idealism, I hold a similar view when it comes to my skin. Once upon a time I was young and then I wasn't so young. My late night readings turned from fiction to the world of physics, world history etc and my skin did not come out on top.
I have since decided to never throw myself under a bus load of work like that. A mid years resolution that I hope I can continue this year.
Dark circles and smile lines be damned or not. The past is not discontinued at the countdown for a reason.
I'm taking my reasons in stride.
Happy New Year All.
