I'm finally hopping on the sheer trend. In an attempt to look clothed while showing you what's under my clothing I layered a top one of my friends gifted me a while ago. I really love some good underwear/sheer top juxtaposition but unfortunately for me I like to eat food and always contract a little food baby after any meal or snack. The worst part is that it's only my stomach that swells up. So the rest of my tummy looks normal until you get to the left side. One thing I did not anticipate is trying to decide what to wear bottom wise. I ordered the top online and thought that once it arrived I'd wear it, shoot it and that would be that. How wrong I was friends. Let's just say that I spent the better part of a month trying to see what would offset the translucence properly. Enter what my family has jokingly dubbed the gym/Serena Williams tennis skirt. I think that for me the key to dabbling in trends that I like is finding pieces that have extra clean lines and tailoring that emphasizes fit and not shape. By that I mean a well tailored top that can be worn when it's two sizes too big brings me more bang for my fast fashion buck. Welcome to September.
